The Bridegroom and I

This is a story of every soul; the deepest sorrow; the greatest failure. It is a story of every life. But in this story, there is One who presents Himself to us as the Bridegroom of our soul - the One who woos us, wins us, and over our life's journey, changes us in the same way this soul was changed. We see that we take on His personality, His beauty. We start as one who seems unclean compared with Him. But the knowledge that He died to purchase a new life, a new future for us begins to sink in. We become more like Him as we journey on. And we find, in this Heavenly Bridegroom, a joy and a purpose unparalleled on this side of eternity. We find that He has gone before us. And as we journey with Him, we see that our soul, once frozen, the one who was much afraid - well, that person is no longer here. We have become like Him.
